Mission Waco Thanksgiving Lunch 2025

Mission Waco Mission World will be hosting our annual Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday November 27th at Austin Avenue Methodist Church! All are invited to come and enjoy lunch and fellowship with one another for what works best in your schedule!

Schedule

8:00 am – 11:30 am – food prep

(Volunteers needed to help set up tables, chairs, decor & food prep)

11:30 am – 12:00 pm – Chapel service

(We ask all to join in on the chapel service since it is in the same location as the lunch, and we will transition to lunch volunteer roles in between)

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Thanksgiving Lunch

(Volunteers needed to serve & clean up after)

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm BINGO & Giveaways!

The Day of Thanksgiving, we will need volunteers to assist with chapel, food preparation, serving food, clean up, Bingo and more!

ROLES

Please sign up for the role you are interested in! 1 role per person please to provide opportunities for more people.

• Thanksgiving Food Prep / Cooks (5)
• Greeters (6)
  • Greeters will be spread out at the entrance of the building and down the hallway to guide folks to the community hall!
• Food Line (10)
  • Food line will assist with filling the plates to go out for service.
• Servers (15)
  • Servers will take the Thanksgiving meal to folks
• Beverage Station (2)
  • Fill cups of tea, water, lemonade for servers to take to guests.
• Dessert Station (2)
  • Help to plate and serve desserts
• Worship Team (2)
• Tear Down Team (8)
  • Help to tear down the community center, gathering all decor, throwing away plates, wiping down tables, vacuuming, putting away tables/chairs as directed by the church, etc.
• Kitchen Clean Up Team (4)
  • Help to wash and dry dishes, sweep/mop the kitchen area, pack up leftovers accordingly, etc.
• BINGO
  • Assist Van Davis with leading BINGO, helping friends to keep track of their cards and giving away the prizes.
